Dealerships want your car to fail

Dealerships want your car to fail - let's beat the system
Dealerships want your car to
fail - let's beat the system!

Thirty years ago, you were lucky to get 50 or 75 thousand miles out of a car. Your dad or granddad probably traded for a new one every 2-3 years. At the same time, he took out a car loan for a year or maybe 18 months.

What happened?

Today’s cars take a much bigger proportion of our income and 5, 6 or even 7 year loans are not unheard of. To keep them affordable, dealerships have invented leasing – where you rent a car and give it back at the end of 2 or 3 years so they can resell it to someone else.

Better built?

The prices have gone up so much because the cars are supposed to last longer. Yet most people have been trading them in after 3-4 years – usually at the first sign of any trouble.

Look at warranties

The dealerships provide a warranty for the first 3 years or so – if you do all the maintenance during that period (don’t get us started on how overpriced the service work is). After that, you’re on your own.

And many people cut back on service because the dealers charge so much for it and it’s not required since the warranty is over.

But that’s when your vehicle is going to need more regular maintenance not less. And the dealers are counting on you deciding (1) it’s too much hassle and (2) “ooh, look at that one, it’s sooo shiny”.

You can beat the system!

Cars are built to easily last 200 or 300 thousand miles. Compare the cost of buying new to the cost of regular maintenance and you’ll see that it’s way more affordable to change the fluids, replace the belts and keep up with any repairs instead of buying a new car.

At Tires Tires Tires, we can save you money

If you’ve been paying for regular maintenance at the dealership during your warranty period you’re going to love to learn that it only costs a fraction of that to get the same job done with the top quality, certified specialists here at Tires Tires Tires.

If you want to get an extra 50 100, or 150 thousand miles or more from your current vehicle, give us a call and let’s beat the system together.
